The first kick-off begins on the 20th of November 2022, at 7 pm at the Al Bayt Stadium, between host nation Qatar and Ecuador. Fortunately, we will all be able to watch the opening and 8 other matches for free on Channel 5 and meWATCH.

For this year’s World Cup, Singtel, Starhub and MediaCorp tied up for the second time to secure the $25 million rights fee to FIFA, to screen it in Singapore. Here is how much it will cost you to cheer for your favourite teams live during the Qatar World Cup 2022 in Singapore.

Subscribe Before 6 November 2022 For Early Bird Discounts

This year, the 3 providers (Singtel, Starhub and Mediacorp) are offering early bird discounts before 6 November 2022. Subscription to watch the World Cup live will cost $98 if you subscribe before 6 November, after which will be raised to the normal price of $118.

This year’s prices ($118) have increased by around 4.25% as compared to the 2018 Russia World cup ($112). The window of time available to attain early bird prices is also shorter at 7 days as compared to the 2018 World Cup’s window of 27 days for early bird discount (25 April to 22 May 2018).

By subscribing, you get to catch the action live or on-demand on your TV screen or on your mobile devices. Besides watching the matches live, you will have access to game analysis, match highlights and top moments from the matches.

Subscribe With Your Current Cable Operator For Convenience Or Special Bundled Prices

Most fans may already be subscribed to one of Singtel, Starhub or MediaCorp services. Take this chance to get a sweeter deal by re-contracting or getting one of their bundled deals.  For example, Singtel will give you the World Cup pack for free if you recontract to Singtel TV or sign up for any Singtel TV Trio Pack.

You also get to enjoy priority 5G streaming on Singtel TV GO and CAST island-wide.  Starhub also has a TV+ FIFA World Cup bundle going for $52.4 per month in a 24-month contract or their HomeHub+ bundle at $97.51 (24-month plan) which includes Disney+, Netflix, and their broadband hardware.

Watch For 9 Matches Free On meWATCH & Channel 5

If you are a busy person or are still considering if the games are worth paying for, you can also catch some of the games for free. Mediacorp plans to broadcast 9 free matches on their free-to-air channels. Those 9 free matches are the opening match, five group stage matches, two-semi-finals, and the final.

Those of us who enjoy watching the World Cup in a crowd will have to wait. As of the time of writing, public screenings of the matches in public venues just like in 2018 have yet to be released. Due to rising costs, it is getting more difficult to provide live sports broadcasts for free due to rising costs, according to the Ministry of Communications and Information. Additionally, with the ongoing presence of the COVID-19 virus in our community, all we can do is wait for any news regarding free public screenings.

Catch The Matches Live At Private Venues In Singapore

Usually, big sports events like the Qatar 2022 World Cup will be shown on certain sports pub screens across the island. This year, Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) will broadcast the third-place kick-off and finals on the 17th and 18th of December 2022 on a 360-degree screen.

Given the late hour, watching the World Cup may need some sacrifice in sleep. There might be a chance that your workplace might just provide that little work-life balance that we all talk about and grant employees a free “World Cup Pass” this time round. Maybe check if your boss is a World Cup fan as well before you ask.

There Are Separate Prices For Businesses Wanting To Display Live Matches On Their Screens

If you are a business owner and would like to attract more customers during this football fever season, all three operators have plans to allow your business to broadcast the matches live on TV.  Singtel has a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 pack starting from $2956.8 and includes installation of the HD set-top box and service activation. Starhub has promotional pricing of two-tier levels. 1. Standard screen (50” and below) at $2,956.8 for the first screen with a subsequent screen at $2076.8. 2. Large screen (51” to 85”) at $5,156.8 for the first screen with a subsequent screen at $3,176.8. Prices for Starhub plans will increase after November 6th.
