If you’re familiar with role-playing games (as I am!), game updates that buff characters and equipment are something you will always look forward to. That’s the same excitement I got when the DBS yuu Card recently got a big buff, making it potentially the most attractive rewards card for your everyday spending.

Given the persistently high inflation and living costs, the DBS yuu Card could help save you more money on your daily expenses, from groceries to transportation to health and beauty and even entertainment options.

Earning Points with the DBS yuu Card has not only been simplified, but it’s also more rewarding with higher cash rebates of up to 18% and other exciting exclusive offers.

What Is yuu Rewards Club?

The yuu Rewards Club is a coalition loyalty programme with a single loyalty currency called yuu Points – you receive on any eligible spending.

yuu Points can be redeemed for Rewards or cash rebates at any of the participating Partner brands, such as BreadTalk, Cold Storage, foodpanda, Gojek and Mandai Wildlife.

Download the yuu mobile app, on Google Play StoreApple App Store, or Huawei App Store, or scan the QR Code below, to start earning yuu points on your next purchase.

Maximise Your Rewards By Spending With The DBS yuu Card

Earning yuu Points is easy once you link your DBS yuu Card with the yuu Rewards Programme. Every dollar that you pay via the DBS yuu Card gives you 1 yuu Point or the equivalent of a 0.5% cash rebate (S$1.00 = 1 yuu Point).

However, the true beauty of the DBS yuu Card lies when you use it at any of the over 1,000 participating yuu merchant outlets. You can effortlessly maximise the yuu Points earned to a base reward of a 5% cash rebates (or 10x yuu Points).

What’s more, there is no minimum spend or cap on the cash rebates that you can earn each month!

Furthermore, when you spend a total of S$600 each month, you qualify for an additional 13% bonus cash rebates (or 26x yuu Points). Note that though the bonus cash rebates is given to qualified spend with yuu Merchants, the total monthly spend of S$600 need not be exclusively with participating yuu Merchants.

These bonus cash rebates are capped at S$78 per calendar month (or 15,600 yuu Points) of your spending at any yuu Merchants. In other words, you will receive a maximum 18% cash rebates (or 36x yuu Points). This is much higher than typical credit cards, which give you between 2% and 10% cash rebates on online and contactless spending.

Here’s a quick summary of the latest simplified version of the yuu rewards system when using a DBS yuu Card:

In addition to the bonus cash rebates, DBS yuu Cardmembers also receive exclusive time-based offers that can be accessed via “My Rewards” on the yuu app. These are periodically updated.

While this should be enough incentive to sign up for the DBS yuu Card today, there’s more. You also stand to receive S$150 cashback (for new cardmembers) or up to S$30/S$60 cashback (for existing cardmembers).

Rack Up Your yuu Points With A Range Of Merchants

While you can earn yuu Points on any eligible spending, you rack up the most (up to 18% cash rebates) when you spend at the following participating merchants with a DBS yuu Card:

DFI Retail Group (DFI) 7-Eleven, Cold Storage, CS Fresh, Giant, Guardian
BreadTalk Group (BTG) BreadTalk, Toast Box, Food Junction, Food Republic, Thye Moh Chan, Butter Bean
Mandai Wildlife Group Singapore Zoo, River Wonders, Night Safari, Bird Paradise
Singtel Singtel Shop and Singtel Exclusive Retailers
Gojek Gojek Singapore
foodpanda foodpanda Singapore

From the example above, you can see that if you go on to spend at least S$600 each month or make frequent purchases at yuu merchants such as DFI, BTG, Gojek, and Singtel, the savings from using a DBS yuu Card can be substantial.

To make life easier for you, there’s a new feature to help you keep track of your monthly eligible spends via your DBS yuu Card. This will help ensure that you can work towards unlocking bonus Points more efficiently each month.

Note that if you have more than $600 in eligible spends (or your eligible spends do not add up to $600), you will still receive the base Cash Rebates on your purchases.

Redeem Attractive Offers (And Save Money)

While you can offset S$1 with every 200 yuu Points on your spending, the smarter way to maximise the benefits is to redeem the accumulated yuu Points for exciting offers that refresh regularly on the yuu app.

For instance, you can start redeeming for as little as 10 yuu Points.

yuuPoint Rewards

As you collect more yuu Points, which becomes easier when you pair your spending with a DBS yuu Card, you can choose to redeem for other higher-value rewards.

For instance, the highest-value item that you can redeem with yuu Points is a mobile phone. For 200,000 yuu Points and $312, an Apple iPhone 14 (128GB) worth $1,312, could be yours!

Now if you are gasping at the 200,000 yuu Points, fret not. With the DBS yuu Card, this is much more achievable. Assuming you spend S$600 each month at any yuu merchants, you will qualify for the bonus cash rebates of up to $78 or 15,600 yuu Points. Assuming you maintain your spending for the next 13 months, you will be able to accumulate the 200,000 yuu Points – and potentially purchase a mobile phone!

This is all the more reason why you should maximise your yuu Points earned by pairing it with a DBS yuu Card by taking advantage of the current promotion.

Exclusively for DBS yuu Cardmembers, you can revel in the festive season with free gifts and discounts at Cold Storage and Giant, Guardian, Toast Box, BreadTalk, and foodpanda from now till 31 December 2023.
